Road Trip Scavenger Hunt is a new iPhone and iPod Touch app based on the classic game we all played when we were kids. Remember when mom and dad's checklist for a road trip would always include a bunch of fun travel games for children? One of my favorites was when they would call something out (pig, cow, yellow bus, whatever) and everyone would try to be the first person to spot it? Well, the Road Trip Scavenger Hunt iPhone App is even more fun. It's one of the best games for a road trip with the family. It's loaded with over 140 different things you might find on a road trip. Not only objects you might see, but words you might find on a billboard or on a car or road sign.
You enter the names of everyone who is playing, choose whether you want to look for words, objects, or a combination of both, and choose how many points it will take to win. Then start the game and it will randomly select an item for everyone to look for. When someone spots it, you just hit the button with their name and it gives them a point. Everyone's score is displayed so you can tell when you really need to step up your game. Items are randomly selected, so no two games will be exactly the same. You can even skip an item if it's something that will take too long to find. So no worries about being stuck looking for a river in the middle of the dessert.
As a father of five absolutely wonderful, though occasionally annoying children, I know how boring it can get for kids on a long drive and how tiring it is for parents to hear "are we there yet?" every 10 minutes.
